Kensy's Trip to DC

Kern sister, Kensy, came to DC last weekend to visit.  Since she had never been to Annapolis, the three of us drove up there on Saturday to spend the day walking around and taking in the sites.  It was nice to be close to water!

It was cloudy, but still nice on the water!

Kern and me in front of the historic Shiplap House

The Maryland House - the oldest state capitol still in use!

Flag in the rotunda area

We walked up and down the streets, peeking into shops and sipping coffee

We had lunch at Chick and Ruth's Delly - they are famous for their crab cakes!
My lunch!
Of course we had to stop by a candy shop when we got caught in the rain.  I didn't complain!
On Sunday, we went down to the Mall to see the MLK Memorial and walk around the Lincoln Memorial

The Cherry Blossoms came out a week early!
The area around the Tidal Basin was packed with people!

We spent Sunday afternoon walking around Georgetown and shopping. (Kern skipped out and walked over to Georgetown and watched the football team practice.) He did make it back for an afternoon snack at Serendipity.
I got the cookie sundae!  Ah-mazing.  I like eating like I'm on vacation when visitors are in town!
